David Wickert

David WickertDavid Wickert, 61, of Littleton died Jan. 30, 2016, at his home.

He was born Sept. 25, 1954, in Macomb, a son of Don and Patricia Downing Wickert. He married Jill Wickert on Nov. 4, 1989, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Amy Wickert of Bloomington and Jillian (and R.E.) Waters of Prairie City; two sons, Chuck (and Micah) Wickert of Carlinville and Clint (and Brittany) Wickert of Bushnell; his mother, Patricia Calvert of Rushville; two brothers, Michael (and Susan) Wickert of Macomb and Tim (and Kathy) Wickert of Adair; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

He was a laborer at Briggs Manufacturing in Abingdon for 13 years. He also worked at Rushville Sale Barn, Tate Cheese in Dallas City and Bridgeway in Macomb.

He sheared sheep in high school. He was a member of the Prairie City Fire Department and enjoyed singing and C.B. radio using the handle “Flap Jaw”.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Mike Rouse officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Astoria.
