She was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Ashburn, Mo., a daughter of Marvin and Odessa “Dessie” Wood Althiser. She married Robert West on Sept. 8, 1946, in Phoenix, Ariz. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2000.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Glenda (and John) Barclay and Sharon Gilpin, both of Lewistown; one son, Robert (and Janet) West of Astoria; three sisters, Evelyn Stegens of London Mills and Charlotte Helton and Nancy Scanavino, both of Ottawa; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Randy Munson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
