Cheryl WirebaughCheryl L. Wirebaugh, 56, of Little America died at 7:03 a.m. Sept. 25, 2014, at her residence.

She was born April 9, 1958, in Peoria, a daughter of Ralph F. and Mable Emery Arnett. She first married Don Locke on Aug. 6, 1977, and later married Thomas Wirebaugh on July 7, 2001. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Dawnelle Guyette of McKinney, Texas, and Samantha (and Jiles) Wyant of Decatur; six stepchildren, Rhonda (and Thomas) Pattison of England, Roy (and fiancée Terri Branstetter) Wirebaugh of Mackinaw, Michelle Ramirez of St. David, Robert (and Jamie) Wirebaugh of Canton, Rebecca (and Richard) Ballew of Columbia, Mo., and Jackie Williams of Rockford; one brother, Randy W. (and Cindy) Arnett of Lewistown; one sister, Lorrie Park of Jacksonville; and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She was an accounting manager for FCRC for 28 years.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Canton, Jobs Daughters and Illinois Women’s Bowling Association. She also was an assistant Girl Scout leader and was active in Relay for Life, where she was a chairman for five years.

Services were held Monday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with Rev. Kevin VanTine officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield.

While she battled adrenal cancer for 16 years, she never made the journey about herself.

Memorials may be made to Cancer Center of Peoria, FCRC, or Beacon of Hope Hospice.
