Shirley Weaver

Shirley WeaverShirley J. Weaver, 83, of Eldridge, Iowa, formerly of LaHarpe and Lewistown, died at 11 a.m. Sept. 20, 2013, at Grand Haven Retirement Community in Eldridge where she was a resident.

She was born Aug. 2, 1930, in Lewistown, a daughter of Russell Clark and Genevieve Kleindinst. She married Charles T. Weaver on Dec. 19, 1950, in Lewistown. He died Feb. 16, 1998.

Surviving are one son, Charles D. (and Paula) Weaver of Eldridge, Iowa; seven siblings, Jack (and Peggy) Clark, Shelia (and Marv) Kimble, Steve Clark, Ralph "Buddy" (and Betty) Kleindinst and Richard (and Janet) Kleindinst, all of Lewistown, David (and Janet) Kleindinst of Florida and Barbara (and Eldon) Baker of Ipava; and two grandchildren.

She was a high school home economics teacher in LaHarpe School District for 32 years before retiring in 1989. She was a seamstress.

Services were held Tuesday at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in rural Lewistown with Pastor Kathy Barrett officiating. Burial was in Apple Cemetery. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.
