Gladys WalkerGladys Rosalie Walker, 76, of Cuba died at 2:15 a.m. Nov. 12, 2011, at Heartland Healthcare in Macomb.

She was born June 17, 1935, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Ernest Andrew and Alice Nellie Lisenbee Lung. She married David E. Walker on Oct. 29, 1966, in Bushnell. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 2009.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (and Jason) DePriest of St. Peters, Mo.; one sister, Pauline (and Al) Hagaman of Rushville; and two brothers, Carl LeRoy (and Carol) Lung of Yuma, Ariz., and Kenneth Larry Lung of Beardstown.

A 1953 graduate of Rushville High School, she worked at Illinois Glove Factory in Beardstown. A graduate of Gem City Business College, she worked at Quincy Public Library prior to her marriage. She later worked at Cuba School District #3 as librarian for 10 years. In 1978, she began working at the former Cuba Journal and later Fulton County Democrat, retiring after 20 plus years of service.

She was a member of Cuba Church of the Nazarene where she served as the missionary president for many years.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Don Southerd officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Cuba Church of the Nazarene or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
