Roy L. Wages, 90, of Canton died at 8:25 a.m. Feb. 9, 2011, at Heartland Healthcare in Canton.

He was born July 28, 1920, in Banner Township, a son of Estie and Bessie Wages. He married Violet Hills on March 20, 1945, in Monterey. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ed (and Carol) Wages of Canton; two brothers, Ray Wages of Canton and Rev. Lloyd (and Nelda) Wages of South Carolina; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Lewis.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. in 1982 and farmed throughout his lifetime.

He was a member of American Legion Post #16, Fulton County Couples Club and Monterey United Methodist Church.

Services were held Saturday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery at a later date.
