Mildred Wheeler

Mildred WheelerMildred M. Wheeler, 91, of Canton, formerly of Cuba, died at 1:47 a.m. Oct. 6, 2010, at Red Oak Estates in Canton.

She was born May 27, 1919, in Gladstone, a daughter of Thomas E. and Iva Mae Burrell Logan. She married Bernard L. Wheeler on Dec. 16, 1938, in Fort Madison, Iowa. He died July 31, 1986.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Bernard D. Wheeler; one grandson, Mark L. Wheeler; one great-granddaughter, Kelly D. Wheeler; five brothers; and three sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Randall L. (and Trudy) Wheeler of Plainfield and Thomas W. Wheeler of Downers Grove; two sisters, Glenna Jeanne Kerker of Blue Lake, Calif., and Ada E. Heller of Murphysboro; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and also worked at Graham Hospital.

She was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church, and a former member of Royal Neighbors.

Services were held Saturday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Pastor Amado Lobatos officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
