Helen WilliamsHelen Williams, 89, of Cuba died at 7:35 a.m. Feb. 24, 2010, at her home.

She was born Sept. 22, 1920, in Smithfield, a daughter of Charles W. and Ines Maual Martin. She married John W. Williams on Jan. 31, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. He died May 4, 1984.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Charles (and Diana) Williams of Smithfield and John (and Lorene) Williams of Cuba; two sisters, Francis Welch of Smithfield and Mary Greenlee of Anchor; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She worked many years at the former Marshall Hardware in Cuba, and had also done housework for the elderly. She was an organist and played for many funerals and weddings throughout her life.

She was a member of Smithfield Church of the Nazarene.

Services were held Saturday at her church with Rev. Layton Malone officiating. Burial was in Cuba Cemetery.
