David WalkerDavid E. Walker, 72, of Cuba died at 10:10 p.m. Feb. 15, 2009, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born July 5, 1936, in Marietta, a son of James Albert and Clara Rose Goldsmith Walker. He married Gladys R. Lung on Oct. 29, 1966, in Bushnell. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Nancy (and Jason) DePriest of St. Peters, Mo.; two brothers, Brian Walker of Bryant and Gerald (and Janet) Walker of Marietta; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Ethan Walker; and three sisters, Jeanine Worthington, Marilyn Joy Walker and Carol Beard.

He was a 1955 graduate of Cuba High School.

He first worked at a porcelain factory in Macomb. Later, he worked for International Harvestor in Canton, then was a truck driver and salesman with Alexander Lumber Company in Cuba and Canton, retiring in March, 2003.

He was a member of Cuba Church of the Nazarene, where he served as trustee; and a member of National Farm Toy Museum.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Larry Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s local hospice or Cuba Church of the Nazarene.
