Kathleen WhiteKathleen Sorrells White, 81, of Rushville, formerly of Bushnell and Timewell area, died at 9:40 a.m. Jan. 20, 2009, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Sept. 6, 1927, in Schuyler County, a daughter of Ethan and Irene Hale Sorrells. She married Leo White on Oct. 17, 1946, in Bushnell. He survives.

Also surviving are four children, Raymond (and Julie Hood) White of Chattanooga, Tenn., Richard (and Betty) White and Roberta (and Scott) Weaver, both of Macomb and Russell (and Carol) White of Browning; three sisters, Lucille Roelle of Colorado, Barbara (and Bud) Hensley of Forrest and Glenda Reynolds of Isanti, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

As a small child, her family moved to a farm in Warren County. She attended a country school there until she was a sophomore in high school. Her parents then moved to Fulton County where she graduated from Cuba High School in 1945.

She worked as an assembler for Motorola in Quincy and as a clerk at Roe’s Grocery in Mount Sterling.

She was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4 Auxiliary and Bushnell VFW 1422 Auxiliary.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice or the charity of one’s choice.
