Everett WardEverett Delbert Ward, 96, of Rushville died at 5:03 a.m. Nov. 13, 2008, at Wesley Village in Macomb.

He was born April 5, 1912, near Rockport in Atlas Township, Pike County, a son of Elmer and Adrain Lynch Ward. He married Ruby Lucille Grimsley on March 21, 1934, in Pittsfield. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, David C. (and Judy) Ward of Rushville and William E. (and Linda) Ward of Macomb; one daughter, June Haines of Monmouth; 18 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Everett Lee Ward and one who died in infancy; one granddaughter, Nancy Diane Ward; one great-grandson, Damon Ward; two great-great-grandsons, Jacob Dupoy and Dustin Carl Ward; two brothers, Hubert Ward and Elmer Wayne Ward; and one sister, Trula Cheek.

He was a lifelong farmer and truck driver until retiring in 1984.

Graveside services were held Monday at Samuel Taylor Cemetery near Rockport in Pike County. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
