Duane Wheeler

Duane A. Wheeler, 62, of Belvidere, formerly of Cuba, died at 12:18 p.m. Aug. 14, 2006, at St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

He was born Sept. 7, 1943, in Macomb, a son of Harold and Virginia Lawson Wheeler. He married Mary Lou Downey on Sept. 7, 1981, in Cuba. She died July 16, 2002.

He also was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are one brother, Darryl (and Kim) of Belvidere; two sisters, Vickie (and Frank) Tait of Bushnell and Linda (and Sal) Santostefano of Mundelein.

He owned and operated Duane's bait and tackle in Cuba and then in Lewistown for many years.

He attended Cuba Assembly of God Church.

Services were held Friday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba with Rev. Andy Fyffe officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
