June WaltersJune Adell Leah Walters, 97, of Decatur, formerly of Industry, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur.

She was born June 16, 1908, in Avon, a daughter of George Thomas and Minnie Adell Babbitt Slater. She married Ralph Hershel Walters on June 16, 1926, in Aledo. He died Aug. 23, 1977.

She also was preceded in death by one infant brother and one sister.

Surviving are four sons, Ralph Doyle and Eldon D. (and Rosemary), both of Jacksonville, Thomas L. (and Ann) of Decatur, and Gene A. (and Patricia) of Pearl City, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1935, being baptized in 1940.

She was a life-long farmer with her husband.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 14, at the Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with Elder Jan Fouke officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Industry Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Jacksonville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 505 W. Walnut, Jacksonville.

Memorials may be made to the Rushville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
