Raymond E. White, 65, of Vermont died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 19, 1940, in Hopedale, a son of Benjamin and Dona Abner White. He married Margaret M. Geiman on Nov. 5, 1966, in Carthage. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Raymond "Chuck" (and Monica) of Topeka and Jeremiah of Vermont; two granddaughters; three brothers, Royce of Morton, Earl of Tremont and Hughy of Pekin; and two sisters, Rose Messman of Manito and Lottie Patterson of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

A member of American Legion Post 6 in Macomb, he was an Army veteran.

He was a carpenter, first working for Tazewell Builders and then self-employed for 20 years.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Kost Memorial Home in Vermont is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program in Macomb.
