Delbert Woodford

Delbert Lloyd Woodford, 80, of Macomb died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born Aug. 19, 1923, in Table Grove, a son of Lloyd and Florence Montgomery Woodford. He married Barbara Woolley on June 30, 1950, in Oswego. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Melody (and David) McGrew of Good Hope and Sheila (and Jim) Turke of Macomb; two sons, Scott (and Martha) of Adair and Kent (and Barb) of Macomb; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one infant brother.

He was a farmer most of his life. After retiring, he worked at Farm King and was a custodian at the YMCA Childcare Center.

He was a former 4-H leader.

He was active with the Pennington Point Cemetery Board, the Soil and Water Conservation Board and the Farm Bureau.

He was a member of Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church in Macomb and served on many committees at Pennington Point and Ebenezer churches.

He also was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Rolling Rivers Camping Club.

Services were held Friday at Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Pennington Point Cemetery near Adair. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to McDonough County Animal Shelter, McDonough District Hospital or Scotland Trinity Presbyterian Church.
