Doris W. Welker, 78, of Canton, formerly of Astoria, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Browning, a daughter of Harry A. and Gracie May Anderson Harris. She married Robert E. Welker on Sept. 30, 1944, in Centralia. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Cheryl Treadway of Canton; one sister, Edna (and Lyle) Workman of Canton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
She was a member of the Schuyler-Brown Historical Society and the Illinois State Genealogical Society.
She was a former member of Browning Methodist Church.
She was a member of Astoria Christian Church in Astoria, where services were held Tuesday with Gary Sheets officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery.
