Ernie Wilson

Ernie A. Wilson, 69, of Astoria, died Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at 4:20 a.m. at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb.

He was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Vermont, a son of Amos and Hazel (Renner) Wilson. He was never married.

Surviving are his twin sister, Verna Mae Stambaugh of Astoria; three nephews; four nieces; and two brothers-in-law.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Bottorf and Wilma Kessler.

He worked as a linotype operator and pressman for the Argus-Searchlight of Astoria and later for K.K. Stevens Publishing Company of Astoria for 40 years.

He was a member of the Astoria Church of Christ, International Order Of Odd Fellows Lodge #79 of Vermont and Harmony Rebekah Lodge #53 of Vermont.

Services will be held Friday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Collis Trone officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 3, at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Astoria.

Memorials may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad.
