Elsie Wys, 92, formerly of Lewistown, died at 2:05 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Astoria Healthcare Center in Astoria, where she was a resident.
She was born July 10, 1906, in Conway Springs, Kan., a daughter of Bernhardt and Edna Wolf Michael. She married Claude E. Wys on Feb. 15, 1930, in Peoria. He died Aug. 5, 1971. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Malott, on Oct. 7, 1983, and one brother.
Surviving are one brother, Elmer “Mike” Michael of Peoria; one sister, Pearl Heren of Manito; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a nurse at a nursing home and with home health care. She was a member of Lewistown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Services were held Tuesday at Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown with the Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating. Private family burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her church or to Astoria Healthcare Center.
