Olladean Ward

Olladean Marie Ward, 89, of Pekin, died at 7:14 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 1998, at Lake Manor.

She was born Oct. 9, 1908, in Ipava, a daughter of Elmer George and Mary Alice Mendenhall Harwick. She married James Claude Ward on Dec. 21, 1938, in Keokuk, Iowa. He died Nov. 20, 1984, in Pekin.

One sister, one brother and one great-granddaughter also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Gerald Hall of Pekin; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (M. Annabeth) Curry of Ardmore, Ala.; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin, where she sang in the choir for 40 years and was a former chairperson of the Evangelism Committee. She was a former member of Christian Women’s Club and King’s Daughters. She was a former board member of Pekin YWCA.

Services were held Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel with Rev. Robert Brite Jr. officiating. Burial was in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
