Catherine Westerfield, 69, of Canton, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, 1996, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born March 10, 1926, in Fulton County, a daughter of Samuel and Ida Foster Elias. She married Everett Westerfield on March 7, 1954, in rural Canton. He died Aug. 19, 1986. She also was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Mark A. Westerfield of Canton and Terry L. Westerfield of Carrollton; two brothers, Lewis Sprecher of Yates City and Franklin Sprecher of Canton; and two sisters, Berniece Kruschinsky and Dale Hamilton, both of Canton.
She was an operator at Illinois Bell Telephone Co. for 10 years. She was a member of Shields Chapel United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and the Keep Klimbing Sunday School class.
Funeral services were held Monday at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home with Rev. Kathy Sweet officiating. Burial was in Shields Chapel Cemetery in rural Canton.
