MARY ALICE (BOLACK) WESTLAKE

Mary Alice Westlake

Mary Alice Westlake, age 93, of Bel-Wood Nursing Home in Peoria, died at 11:09 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 1995 at Bel-Wood.

She was born July 11, 1901 in Grandforks, N.D., a daughter of Alfred and Carrie Bolack. She married Bernard R. Westlake Oct. 10, 1929 in Grandforks, N.D. He died Nov. 28, 1984 in Peoria. She was preceded in death by one brother.

Surviving are four sons, Bernard R. Westlake, Jr. of Clearlake, Calif., Alfred of Ft. Morgan, Colo., William of Shorewood, Wis., and Phillip of Peoria Heights; four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Alessi of Washington, Joan Westlake, Mrs. Louis (Carol) Buehler, both of Peoria and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Fain of Morton; 23 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Mary Alfred of St. Paul, Minn., and Lillian Bolack of Grandforks, N.D.

She was a teacher before she was married, a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and a former member of St. John’s and St. Patrick’s Mothers Club.

Funeral services were held Monday, at St. Thomas Church with Rev. William Watson officiating. Wright & Salmon Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Graveside services were held at Barker-Miner Cemetery in Table Grove.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis Medical Center Foundation and Family Practice.
