R. Eldon Wheeler, 75, of rural Marietta, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 1995, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.
He was born Dec. 7, 1919, in Marietta, a son of James H. and Grace Ann Rose Wheeler. He married Doris E. Morrison on May 29, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, James of Marietta; two daughters, Judy Webb of Manitowoc, Wis., and Linda Pray of Geneseo; one brother, Clyde of Marietta; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was a farmer. He was a former member of Bushnell-Prairie City School Board, Elks Club, Odd Fellows and Browning Gun Club.
Funeral services were held Monday at Martin-Hollis Funeral Home in Bushnell with Rev. Rodney Ruberg officiating. Burial was in Bushnell Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., Bushnell United Methodist Church or Bushnell Fire Department.
