HAROLD “LEE” WEDEKING

Harold “Lee” Wedeking, 68, of Rushville, died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 1995, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Feb. 24, 1926 in Cass County, a son of Louis and Matilda “Tillie” Koch Wedeking. He married Thelma Waneta McFetridge on March 18, 1949, in Philadelphia, Ill. She died Nov. 29, 1973. He married Dorthy Hegi Martin on May 21, 1977, in Searcy, Ark. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Roger (Patricia) Stone of Browning; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Mike (Paula) McCage of Troy, Tenn., Mrs. Steve (Sharon) Battles of Springfield and Tammy Martin of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Russell of Arenzville and Ralph of Beardstown; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Grace) Genseal and Doris Coultas, both of Beardstown; and nine grandchildren.

One son, Thomas Lee Wedeking, and two brothers preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a carpenter for Carpenters Local 904 in Jacksonville for 17 years. He later was a custodian at Illinois Glove Co. in Beardstown, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of Browning Church of Christ, where services were held this morning with John Ruppel and Pat Clements officiating. Burial was in Browning Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Culbertson Memorial Hospital or Schuyler County Ambulance.

Wood-Roby Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
