VeteranRoy P. Wagahoff Of Ipava Dies

Roy P. Wagahoff, 74, of Ipava, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 1990, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

He was born June 4, 1915, in Raymond, a son of Richard and Mary Moore Wagahoff. He married Clara Mae Bricker on Dec. 5, 1942, in Palmyra. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Dennis of Greenwood, Ind.; one daughter, Patricia Wagahoff of Ipava; three grandchildren; and one half-brother, William Price of Houston, Tex.

He was preceded in death by one grandson, one brother and one half-sister.

A World War II Army veteran, he was a member of Ipava American Legion Post 17, Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ipava Masonic Lodge and Ipava Chapter Order of Eastern Star.

He was a retired coal miner, and before retiring was employed by Freeman United Electric Coal Co. in Canton and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

He was a member of Ipava Christian Church, where services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Robert Yates officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava, with Masonic services at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Ipava American Legion Post 17.

Memorials may be made to the American Legion, Rescue Squad and Masonic Lodge, all of Ipava.
