Charles Woodford Dies In Peoria

Charles E. Woodford, 83, of West Plains, Mo., died Tuesday morning, April 17, 1990, at Proctor Community Hospital in Peoria.

He was born March 27, 1907, in Table Grove, a son of John and Nola Hills Woodford. He married Eva Swanson on May 14, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Joy) Anderson of Peoria; two sons, Leon and Ronald, both of Bradford; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers.

He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria for several years until 1943. He later farmed in the Bradford-Henry area and retired to Missouri in 1967. He was instrumental in the organization of the Camp Grove Sportsmen’s Club.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Johnson-Dunlap Funeral Home in Bradford with Rev. William Burton officiating. Burial was in Chillicothe Cemetery.
