Sadie Williams Of Peoria Dies

Sadie Mae Williams, 78, of Peoria where she lived 25 years, died at 7:26 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 1990, at Methodist Medical Center.

She was born May 10, 1911, in Canton, a daughter of James Lee and Minnie Viola Swift Vance. She married Howard S. Williams in Missouri. He died in Canton in 1973.

Four brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Stanley Vance of Bryant; two brothers, Donald Vance of Morton and Frank Vance of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Frank (Virginia M.) Finrock of Elmwood; and several nieces and nephews.

She was employed by the State of Illinois, last working in the George A. Zeller Mental Health Center, retiring from there in 1983. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church of Canton.

Her husband was an auctioneer in the Astoria area and they resided here several years.

Visitation was to begin at 10 a.m. this morning at Davison-Fulton Western Chapel, followed by services at 11. Rev. James Allen will officiate and burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
