George Winship Of Cuba Dies

George E. Winship, 81, of Cuba, died at 11:43 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 1990 at Coastal Bend Hospital in Aransas Pass, Texas.

He was born Dec. 14, 1908, in Cuba, the son of Thomas Everett and Mabel (Haacke) Winship. He married Ina Marie Muncie on June 9, 1934, in Ottawa. She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Kathy) Cleer of Ipava; two brothers, Owen of Lewistown and Russell of Cuba; one sister, Verlena Phillips of Canton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He was a power plant foreman at International Harvester for 40 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of Cuba Lodge 534, AF&AM, Mohammed Temple, Shrine, Peoria Consistory, Swing Nobles Stage Band and Brass Marching Band. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of the American Radio Relay League. He was a former member of the P & O Band and was a member of the Christian Church in Aransas Pass.

Cremation rites were accorded. There will be no services or visitation. Oaks Memorial Chapel of Canton was in charge of arrangements.
