VeteranO. Wethington Dies In Texas

Oswald “Vaughn” Wethington, 52, of Mineral Wells, Texas, formerly of Lewistown, died at 6:50 a.m. Dec. 27, 1989, at Osteopathic Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

He was born Aug. 11, 1937, in Liberty, Ky., the son of Samuel and Fannie (Vaughn) Wethington.

Survivors include one son, Todd Wethington of Weatherford, Tex.; one daughter, Tonya Williams of Lewistown; two brothers; and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, receiving two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star, along with several other commendations. He was employed as a disaster preparedness specialist for the United States government.

A graveside service was held Dec. 29 at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
