Sarah M. Wilson Dies In Hospital

Mrs. Sarah M. Wilson, 88, of Astoria, died at 12:38 p.m. Monday, Mar. 24, 1980, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

The former Sarah Morelock, she was born May 6, 1891. She was married to Hart Wilson in Lewistown in 1911. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include four children, Wilbur Wilson of Astoria, Lucille Thomas of Lakeland, Fla., Wayne Wilson of Littleton, Colo., and Frances Blickenstaff of Turlock, Calif.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete but have tentatively been set for Friday afternoon in the Astoria United Methodist Church. Kost Memorial Home of Vermont is in charge.

Obituary For Mrs. Sarah Wilson

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Wilson, 88, of Astoria, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Astoria Methodist Church with Collis Trone officiating. Interment was in Astoria Mausoleum.

Mrs. Wilson died at 12:38 Monday, Mar. 24, 1980, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

She was born May 6, 1891, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Morelock. She married Hart Wilson on Aug. 24, 1911, in Lewistown. He died Oct. 21, 1978.

She was a member of the United Methodist church in Astoria.

Surviving are two sons, Wilbur of Astoria and Wayne of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Thomas of Lakeland, Fla. and Mrs. Francis Blickenstaff of Turlock, Calif.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister.

 

[Laura’s note: I am not sure whether her maiden name was spelled “Morelock” or “Morlock”. Other records suggest “Morlock” as the proper spelling so that is what I am going with for now.]
