Bertha M. Watkins Dies at Age 79

Mrs. Bertha May Watkins, 79, of 418 E. Main, Havana, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 1980, in the Astoria Care Center.

Born in Fulton County April 23, 1900, a daughter of John and Anna K. Dierker Hammack, she married John Williamson, and he preceded her in death. She married Casper Watkins Sept. 15, 1926, and he died April 14, 1962.

One son, Ray Williamson, also preceded her as did three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, five brothers and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, John Williamson of Sierra Blanca, Texas, and Estler Watkins of Blue Eye, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Harry (Colleen) Curless of Havana, Mrs. William (Frances Evelyn) McMillan of Arlington, Tex., Mrs. Anna Jane Hughes of Lincoln, and Mrs. Kenneth (Eldred) Miller of Mena, Ark.; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and several great, great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon in Hurley Funeral Home in Havana with Rev. L. Arvil Bass officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
