Mrs. Alena Walton Died Monday In Jacksonville

Mrs. Alena Walton, 78, a lifetime resident of the Browning community died Sunday night in a Jacksonville hospital, following a several years illness.

Born in Browning Sept. 18, 1876, the eldest child of B. F. and Delilah (Rebman) Geer, she was married on Dec. 16, 1896 to Raymond Walton who died Dec. 26, 1954.

Surviving are two sons, Dale and Francis Walton, Browning; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; a sister, Mrs. Florence Walton, Prairie du Chien, Wis.; and four brothers, Homer Geer, Rushville; Roy Geer, Browning; Milton Geer, Prairie City; and Eugene Geer, Ozark, Mo. Three brothers preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon in the Church of Christ by Bro. Wayne Smith of Springfield. Burial in the Bader cemetery.
