MATTIE T. WRIGHT

Obituary of Mattie Wright

Mattie T. Wright, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Wright was born in Astoria township, Oct. 28, 1854, and departed this life at her home in Snicarte, Ill., May 22, 1920, being 65 years, 6 months and 24 days old.

She was of a family of thirteen children all of them having preceded her to their home beyond.

She had been in failing health for about two years, but had failed very fast the past three months. She bore her cross bravely and without complaint. All that loving hands could do, was done, but no avail for early in the morning God relieved her of her suffering and took her spirit home. She leaves an adopted son, Stanton Clemons and his family, three nieces and other distant relatives and many friends to mourn her departure.

She was a member of the Oak Leaf Camp No. 4256 Royal Neighbors of America.

Funeral services were conducted at her home Sunday afternoon by Rev. Branson of Chandlerville. The body was brought by launch Tuesday morning to Browning and transferred by auto to the Astoria cemetery where services were conducted by Rev. Miller of Browning and Sisters of the Royal Neighbors, after which her body was laid to rest.
