DAVID TAYLOR WETZEL

Death of Taylor Wetzel.

David Taylor Wetzel, deceased, the son of Christopher and Sarah Wetzel, was born three miles west of Astoria, Sept. 11th, 1848. Departed this life Dec. 24, 1910.

He remained with his parents at the place of his birth until about ’72, at which time he went west and remained a few years, then returned home and engaged in farming with his parents; after which he returned west again and engaged in mining interests and continued until the year 1900 at which time his health failed him and he was then brought home. He then partially recovered and continued in about the same state of health until about two weeks prior to his death.

He was reared by christian parents and although he never made any profession of christianity, he was moral in his habits and never departed from the culture he received from his parents and was loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by four sisters and one brother, namely: Henry L. Wetzel, of Lewistown, Mrs. Eliza Jane Clark, of Lewistown, Miss Priscilla E. Wetzel and Mrs. Margaret A. Dial, of Astoria, Mrs. Sarah C. Lutz, of Monmouth. They were all present at the funeral.

The nephews present were Messrs. Carrolton Clark, of Lewistown, Toler Wetzel, of Lewistown and Herschel Lutz, of Monmouth. The nieces present were: Miss Permilia Wetzel, of Lewistown, Mrs. Lillie Arthur and Mrs. Inez Dean, of Astoria.

The funeral services were held in Oak Grove church, conducted by Rev. Ella Niswonger, assisted by Rev. C. C. Harvey. Interment was made in Oak Grove cemetery.
