Dr. Chas. Whiting, a Baptist minister of Canton, died Wednesday of last week. He had been pastor of the church in Canton for thirteen years and was considered a very learned man. Our people will remember him, as the gentleman who spoke here last Decoration day. His eloquence and language on that occasion created much comment among our people and endeared him to soldiers and citizens alike.
