She was born March 14, 1937, in Rushville, the daughter of Leslie and Dorothy Ward Cokenour. She married Lyle Vail on May 12, 1962, in Rushville. He survives.
Also surviving are two nephews, Chris and Mike Cokenour of O’Fallon, Ill.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Cokenour and Robert Cokenour.
She worked in the Rushville City Clerk’s office 10 years and the Schuyler School District Board office for 30 years before retiring.
She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Graveside services were held Monday at Rushville City Cemetery with Mr. David Haney officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
