Dorothy VanEttenDorothy M. VanEtten, 89, of Lewistown, formerly of Havana, died at 10:14 a.m. Feb. 19, 2015, at her home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Enion, a daughter of Alexander and Mable Brillhart Howe. She married Franklin G. VanEtten Jr. on June 2, 1946, in Havana. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1992.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Alan VanEtten; one brother; and one sister.

Surviving are two sons, Edward (and Tracy) VanEtten of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Timothy (and Lanette) VanEtten of Havana; three daughters, Mary (and Warren) Berkley of Lewistown, Carrie VanEtten of Rock Hill, S.C., and Lori (and Greg) Bainter of Portage, Wis.; one sister, Norma (and Gordon) Weber of Macomb; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and had volunteered for many organizations including Mason District Hospital Auxiliary.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Havana and also was a 50-year member of Eastern Star.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Jame Hahs officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice in Galesburg.
