Ernest L. Vaughn, 88, of rural Ipava, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at Havana Healthcare Center.
He was born June 10, 1910, in Fulton County, a son of Leonard and Mianda Bates Vaughn. He married Maxine Porter on April 11, 1938, in Peoria. She died Oct. 8, 1993. Also preceding him in death were two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Rodda of LaSalle and Vicky Benac of Peru; and four grandchildren.
He was a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau and was a former member of the VIT Board of Education. He was a farmer.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ipava Cemetery with Rev. William Abernethy officiating. There will be no visitation. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Ipava American Legion or Ipava Rescue Squad.
