Dwayne Vaughn Dies At Age 75

Dwayne Vaughn, 75, of Canton, died at 3:14 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 1990, at Graham Hospital.

He was born Aug. 14, 1915, at Summum, the son of Clayton and Lanah (Danner) Vaughn. He married Wanetta Westerfield on Aug. 24, 1935, at Shields Chapel Church near Canton. She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Donald D. Vaughn of Canton and Ronald E. Vaughn of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Betty Lou Hardesty of rural Canton and Norma Phelps of East Peoria; one brother, Dale Vaughn of rural Canton; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a farmer in the Shields Chapel area. He was in the trucking business and was a bus driver for Canton School District for several years. He was a member of the Shields Chapel Church and the Keep Klimbing Class of the church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Oaks Memorial Chapel with Rev. Guy Keysear officiating. Burial was in Shields Chapel Cemetery.
