Death of Mrs. Elizabeth J. Vaughn

IPAVA — Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Vaughn, wife of Marvin Vaughn passed away on Saturday at 12:30 o'clock, after a brief illness, altho she has been in failing health for sometime. She was aged 72 years, 8 months and 19 days.

Elizabeth Jane Rakestraw was the daughter of Wilson and Phoebe Rakestraw and was born near Astoria, April 10, 1863. She was united in marriage early in life to Mr. Marvin Vaughn and of this union four children survive: Guy Vaughn and Mrs. Hilah Robertson, Ipava; Mrs. Sylvia Sipps of Cuba and Wilson Vaughn, Clarinda, Iowa. There are also surviving 28 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Sylvia Hickle and three brothers. She was a member of the Ipava Christian church.

A short funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon July 2, at 1:30 at the home on West Broadway, conducted by the pastor of Ipava Christian church. Burial took place at Union Chapel cemetery near Astoria.
