MABEL VAN ANTWERP

Vermont Girl Dies

Mabel VanAntwerp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank VanAntwerp, of northeast of Vermont, passed away in her home Thursday morning following a night of serious illness.

Miss VanAntwerp was only 19 years, 5 months and 28 days of age at the time of her death. She had not been very well for the past few months but the last few days had seemed better than usual.

Wednesday evening she was eating an apple and choked on it, very severely. Her mother assisted her in getting the apple out of her mouth. However, she continued to have choking spells and the doctor was called. She suffered all night with them and the physicians attribute the cause to partial paralysis of the muscles of her neck. There was no way to cure the cause and she passed away Thursday morning.

Mabel was a graduate of the Vermont High School year before last and her death causes much sadness in this community because she was so well known and because of her youth. The family has the sympathy of everyone.

Funeral services were held from the Methodist church, Saturday at 2:00 p.m., Rev. M. D. Tremaine, officiating. Interment in the Vermont cemetery. — Vermont Union.
