REV. WILLIAM ISAAC VALENTINE

Rev. Isaac Valentine.

William Isaac Valentine was born at Marietta, Ohio, Oct. 3, 1824, died at his home three miles southeast of Summum, Ill., June 13, 1904, aged 79 years, 7 months and 10 days. When he was three years of age he moved with his parents to Ill., where he resided the remainder of his life.

He was united in marriage to Ruth Jane VanWinkle in 1841.

To this union were born seven children, two of whom died in childhood, and the mother died in 1863.

Mr. Valentine was again married, Nov. 22, 1863, to Josephine Boyher, who died April 1, 1884.

He was married to Nellie E. Morningstar, of Roseville, Ill., July 3, 1884. To this union five children were born, four of whom, with the wife survive him.

Rev. Isaac Valentine began preaching in the M. E. church at a very early age, but on the 12th of Sept., 1868 he was received, as an approved preacher into the United Brethren church, in McDonough county, Ill.

He was a faithful christian, a good neighbor, a kind father and a loving husband.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. B. Miller in the Christian church at Summum, afterwhich the remains were laid to rest in the Sixteen cemetery.

Rev. Isaac Valentine

WOODLAND — Rev. Isaac Valentine, an old and respected citizen of this township, died at his home Monday evening, June 13, at about half past eight. Funeral Wednesday. Interment in the Sixteen cemetery. Particulars of his death will probably appear next week.
