He was born May 21, 1951, in Rushville, a son of Charles and Laura Fuqua Toland. He married Laura Parker on Aug. 26, 2000, in Rushville. She survives in Meredosia.
Also surviving are one son, Chris (and Chelsey) of Rushville; two stepchildren, Dustin (and fiancée Loretta) Parker and Andrew Parker, both of Meredosia; one brother, James (and Sally) Toland of Rushville; two grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.
He was a 1969 graduate of Rushville High School and a graduate of Spoon River College. He worked for over 40 years as a union cable splicer.
He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville.
Graveside services were held Thursday at the Rushville City Cemetery with Pastor Charla Meyers officiating.
Memorials may be made to Hope Blooms or the charity of one’s choice. Wood Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
