RUDOLPH S. “RUDY” TOMPKINS

Rudy TompkinsRudolph S. “Rudy” Tompkins, 70, of Lewistown died at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 23, 2015, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Aug. 19, 1945, in Canton, the son of Paul and Mary Beadles Tompkins. He married Sharon Herrick Tompkins on June 7, 1969, in Cuba. She survives.

Also surviving are one sister, Maida Williams of Canton; considered brother, Danny (and Kathy) Herrick of Canton; considered sisters, Bonnie (and David) Howerter and Sandy (and Allen) Harper, both of Lewistown, and Vickie (and Stephen) Churchill of Cuba; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one nephew, Adrian Williams.

He was a welder at Caterpillar East Peoria Plant for 43 years. He graduated from Cuba High School in 1963.

He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hollister from 1963-67.

He was a member of the UAW Local 974 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. He was a Gift of Hope donor.

Cremation will be accorded and there will be no services. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
