Frances Rita Tomlinson, 81, of Rushville died at 9:15 a.m. March 1, 2015, at her home.Frances Rita Tomlinson, 81, of Rushville died at 9:15 a.m. March 1, 2015, at her home.
She was born Dec 10, 1933, in Ames, Iowa, a daughter of George C. and Marian Loras Gibbs Decker.
Surviving are her children, Jean (and Norm) Kloker, Cathryn Tomlinson, Craig (and Lynn) Tomlinson and Brian Tomlinson, all of Rushville, and Patti (and Jack) Hendon of Galesburg; two sisters, Loretta Hansen of Tampa, Fla., and Dorothy Harkness of Jacksonville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Moran and Mary Green.
She received her RN training at Mercy Hospital in Champaign, and served as an RN at Mercy Hospital in Champaign and Schmidt Memorial Hospital in Beardstown, where she was an OB nurse, until a car accident in 1967, after which she was unable to return to work.
She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Rushville and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Mike Courson officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
