Dennis TaylorDennis Dean "Doc" Taylor, 63, of rural Rushville died at 9:51 a.m. Nov. 22, 2011, at his home.

He was born July 3, 1948, in Rushville, a son of Lloyd and Venetta Guillian Taylor. He married Karen Ritchey in March of 1975. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dennis (and Samantha) Taylor of Rushville and Larry Smith of Astoria; two daughters, Jeanette (and Daniel) Taylor Benner and Tammy Smith Pike, both of Rushville; two brothers, Frank Taylor and Raymond Taylor, both of Rushville; one sister, Bessie Burgett of Havana; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Annette Taylor.

He served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany.

He retired from Caterpillar in 1997 after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked for area farmers as long as his health permitted.

Graveside services were held Saturday at Union Chapel Cemetery near Astoria with Chaplin Marcia Forman officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
