Bernard ThompsonBernard Leroy Thompson, 84, of Rushville died at 11:47 p.m. March 10, 2008, in Culbertson Long Term Care.

He was born April 2, 1923, in Augusta, a son of Herman W. and Jennie C. Jones Thompson. He married Ruby Reische on Nov. 4, 1942, in Palmyra, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Carol (and Chuck) Warner of Rushville; one sister, Margaret Jones of Monmouth; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Paul, Harold and Marion Thompson; and one sister, Edna Allen.

He was a heavy equipment operator working out of Union Local #965 in Springfield, receiving his 65-year pin. He and his wife owned and operated Thompson Antiques for over 35 years. He also was a 60-year member of Rushville Lodge #9, AF and AM.

Graveside services were held Thursday at Rushville City Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
