Robert TurnerRobert G. Turner, 78, of Springfield, formerly of Beardstown and Astoria, died April 24, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Richard Lee and Irene Ruth Turner. He married Donna Davidsmeyer on Nov. 19, 1954, in Beardstown. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kevin (and Liz) of Springfield; and two step-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Rosalie Turner.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in a military police company in Korea and Japan.

He was a sales associate for Ace Hardware, retiring in 1992.

He was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren.

Graveside services were held April 30 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Rev. James Wootton officiating. Bisch Funeral Home West of Springfield was in charge of arrangements.
