Rosalie Turner

Rosalie R. Turner, 74, of Rushville died at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at her home.

She was born May 10, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Richard and Irene Ruth Turner.

Surviving are one brother, Robert (and Donna) Turner of Springfield; one nephew; and two step-nephews.

A 1945 graduate of Astoria High School and a 1949 graduate of Western Illinois University, she taught in rural Astoria area schools. She was principal of Round Lake Beach Grade School from 1960 to 1964 and then taught at Rend Lake Junior High before retiring in 1985.

She was a member of the NEA and IEA, where she was a former officer.

She was a member of Astoria Church of the Brethren.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Gary Schultz officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery near Astoria.

Memorials may be made to her church.
