Elsie V. Thompson, 89, of Canton died at 2:16 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.
She was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Havana, a daughter of Mert and Nora Sandall Smith. She married Maurice L. Thompson on Dec. 28, 1932, in Havana. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth (and Shirley) of Canton, Richard (and DaNita) of Abingdon and Maurice Jr. of Moline; one sister, Fern Shaw of Canton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one grandchild.
She was a lab technician for Dr. Almida in Canton for 30 years.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Canton.
Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Murphy-Sedgwick Memorial Home in Canton with Gene Danner officiating, where visitation will be one hour before. Burial will be in Summum Cemetery in Summum.
