Arthur Thrasher

Dr. Arthur Richard Thrasher, 51, of Colchester, was pronounced dead at 11:31 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at his home, where he was found shot to death.

He was born March 11, 1951, in Sullivan, Ind., a son of Richard "Bud" and Barbara Gillham Thrasher.

Surviving are his mother of Shelburn; and one sister, Patty Ann Thrasher of Shelburn.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He worked as a reclamation officer and pit boss for Freeman United Coal Co. near Industry from 1975 to 1985. He then enrolled at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. After he graduated in 1993, he moved to Colchester and practiced medicine in Macomb until the time of his death.

A local memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Macomb with Rev. Lori Harvey officiating. Burial will be in Little Flock Cemetery in Shelburn.

Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the O.B. department or the emergency room at McDonough District Hospital or to Big Sister/Big Brother programs in McDonough County.
